Million-dollar blog post.

We've been discussing starting a blog since the start of the year; to document the process of Unegen: The Burning Tree. It wasn't until Sam shared Ali Abdaal's video called "How Writing Online Made Me A Millionaire" that the true inspiration set in. Cha-ching.

Click-bait aside, Ali's advice was sincere and practical. He discusses the silly fears around starting a blog - "Who's really going to read it? Who cares what I think about this book? Surely what I'm about to say has already been said? What if they steal my precious ideas!?" The answer - no one cares.

This isn't to say that no one will pay attention to these posts, it means the only person caring about these imaginary barriers is myself. Anyway, enough about my personal motivation, lets get into what we're actually writing about.

Sam and I are here to document the creation of Unegen: The Burning Tree. We'll be going way back to its origins in 2010, until we get to its current state and continuing from there. The blog will also feature our thoughts on books we've read, films and shows we've seen, and anything else we consume that benefits the writing of this series.

This blog is as much a tool for us as it for the reader. The key goals are to generate an audience, help others in their own creative writing pursuits, and also define our own ideas.

By documenting the creative process, we will clarify any of those vague ideas we might have, potentially tie off any loose ends in the story, and help define the key messages behind the series.
